My name’s William Thomas and this blog is all about my continuing adventures in the wonderful world of food & wine. My background is as a chef (I trained at Thames Valley Uni and Cliveden Hotel in Buckinghamshire), but today I’m a food and wine writer, a wine lover, bread baker and passionate supporter (and consumer) of all delicious things made with love and integrity.
I’ve worked with many interesting food and wine businesses, from the big: Marks & Spencer, Sainbury’s and Morrisons, to the small: Roger Harris Wines, Peyton & Byrne and I Am Juice. I’ve learnt a few things in my twenty years in this business, and this blog gives me the opportunity to share some of those things.
Although this is essentially a blog about wine, the world of wine really has no borders, so it’s also a blog about food, cooking, travel, winegrowers and winemakers, agriculture, farming and all the lovely things that go with – and into – a bottle of wine.
I share my findings, opinions, tastes, knowledge and passions as I come across things that interest me, whether they’re through my work, or in my own explorations of food & wine. These could be notes, recipes, travelogues, videos, essays, photos, random musings (and no doubt the occasional rant), but they’re always heartfelt, hopefully informative and, you never know, even of some interest.
Although the blog has my name on it, as far as I’m concerned it’s as a collaboration with you. As wine-lovers, we’re all on a journey, and if we can help each other out on the way we’ll all get more out of it. So if you like what you see, get in touch.
